The opening of the Embassy of Georgia in the Kingdom of the Netherlands is significant for the Foreign Policy of our country. It is also a great honour and responsibility for me to establish the first Embassy and diplomatic mission of Georgia in The Hague.
Diplomatic relationships between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Georgia started in 1992, and since then have been friendly and partnership-oriented. The primary goal of the newly established Embassy is to deepen and develop further the existing relationship and partnership between our countries in all possible directions.
Georgia, a country of ancient culture, since the Rose Revolution in November 2003 has been engaged in building a democratic and legislative state while expressing its clearly pro-western orientation and a desire to become integrated into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. Through its First Lady H.E. Sandra Elisabeth Roelofs Georgia has become well known within this wonderful country.
This web-page has been created for the purpose of making the history, culture, politics and economy of our country, as well as its achievements, even better-known and thus help you, dear Reader, decide to visit Georgia either for business or for tourism. Together with my colleagues, we are ready to assist you in whatever interests you may have and host you not only virtually but also in person at the Embassy of Georgia.
