Welcome to the official website of the Embassy of Georgia in Cairo.
I am honored that you have taken the opportunity to visit us on the internet. We would like to offer you useful information.
Traditionally, Georgia has enjoyed close and friendly ties with Egypt and the Arab world. The diplomatic relations between Egypt and Georgia were established in 1991. Egypt was one of the first Arab countries to recognize Georgia's independence. Later, in 1998 the Embassy of Georgia opened in Cairo.
But our historic and cultural relations are deeper than that. They go back to ancient times, as far as Pharaoh Epoch and the Middle Ages.
New relations between our countries have adapted well to the age of globalization. The exchange on the political, economic and cultural field reflects the liveliness of our successful cooperation today.
As Ambassador, I consider it my task to strengthen these already friendly relations – through close and intensive cooperation with my Egyptian counterparts as well as an open dialogue with the wider public.
I hope this website will serve as an important tool in finding the information you need about Georgia in general as well as the Embassy and its services. Should you require further information or assistance, you are most welcome to contact us by e-mail, letter or telephone.
I hope you will enjoy our homepage.
Best regards,
Cocha Japaridze Ambassador |
