Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Georgia to the State of Israel.

The goal of this website is to introduce to our guests the centuries-old history and culture of our country as well as to provide with the latest and thorough information concerning the Embassy's activities including consular issues. We aim to fully assist those planning to establish business relations with Georgia as well as those wishing to visit our country.

The Rose Revolution and reforms that followed turned Georgia into one of the rapidly developing states based on democratic values. While dealing with domestic problems, at the same time, we strive to establish close relations with the international community. Amongst our partner countries Israel has a special place. Israel was one of the first countries to open its embassy in independent Georgia. Since then the relationships between the two states have been continuously intensifying.

A favorable geographical location along with successful reforms, stable macroeconomic environment, liberal trade regime, low taxes and aggressive privatization policy have turned Georgia into one of the most attractive countries for foreign investments. I would like to mention herewith that Israel is amongst our biggest investors and that this figure continues to grow. We are happy to acknowledge that the number of Israeli tourists who have an opportunity to enjoy the nature, culture and hospitality of our country is increasing as well.

For me, as well as for all Georgians, Israel bears a particular significance. These two nations have been bonded by a 26-century-old brotherhood and friendship. Moreover, in my view, this relationship could serve as the best example of friendship between the nations.  

We are especially proud that the Jewish people greatly contributed to the development and strengthening of the statehood of Georgia while nowadays they continue to serve their homeland and its welfare. We are grateful for the affection they still feel for Georgia and for passing this affection over to new generations. In the hard times for our country, their support for Georgia was a vivid proof of it. We assure you that Georgian people will never forget this support and that Georgia’s doors and our hearts will be at all times open both for them and the generations to come.

We do hope that our website will prove useful for you and we also hope to encourage those who know little about our country to visit Georgia. I would also add herewith that the Embassy staff will be happy to provide more detailed information to any of your questions or inquiries.
