From the very first day of gaining independence, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan being sovereign states have been consistently pursuing the aim to build civilized relations and deepen political, economic and cultural cooperation. There is a solid contractual-legislative base already in place.
Georgia has been making steady strides to provide a strong basis for independence, strengthen economy, reinforce international relations and develop different spheres of public and political life. In this process we actively try to derive benefits from the experience of the civilized world and greatly appreciate the assistance and support of our partner countries and international organizations.
Special role, in this reconstruction process, is to be attached to our partner nations’ coordinated steps towards the development and realization of our common interests.
I am confident that Georgia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are partners in many fields, including in the development of the Silk Road and diversification of energy routes to the global markets.
Current economic reforms have resulted in the substantial improvement of investment climate and accordingly, working conditions for foreign investors. It provides solid grounds for the hope that Business structures in Georgia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will pursue active cooperation.
Our nations have been committed for many years to the task of constructing bridges of friendship among themselves. Many Georgians used to live and enjoy the respect of the local population in these hospitable countries. We are still at the receiving end of this warm attitude and exert further efforts to bring our countries even closer. The leaders of these countries attach paramount importance to the friendship and cooperation among our nations. It is this mutual understanding and common interests that form a strong basis for cooperation.
