A special regal regime applies occupied regions of Georgia- Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region (former Ossetia Autonomous District), including limitations on free migration and economic activities.

According to Article 4 if the Law of Georgia on Occupied Territories, citizens of foreign countries are allowed to enter the occupied territories from the following directions.

a)       The territory of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia-the territory of Zugdidi Municipality;

b)       The territory of the Tskhinvali region (territory of the former South Ossetia Autonomous District)-from the territory of the Gori  Municipality.

 

In extraordinary cases special permission to enter the occupied territories from other directions can be granted, in compliance with the relevant normative documents of the Government of Georgia

Information on the meeting held between the Georgian and Bulgarian Foreign Ministers
On the 11th of July 2013 in Batumi, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze, met her Bulgarian counterpart, Mr Kristian Vigenin, during his first visit to Georgia. Mr Vigenin is also due to attend the 10th Jubilee International Conference on "Georgia's European Way" on the 12th of July.

On the 11th of July the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of France, Ms Ekaterine Siradze-Delaunay, presented her credentials to the French President, Mr François Hollande.

On the 4th of July 2013 in Belgrade, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Serbia, Mr Davit Bakradze, and the State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Finance and Economy, Mr Goran Petković, signed an agreement on co-operation in the field of tourism between their two countries.
