The Georgian President, Mr Mikheil Saakashvili, has decreed the 16th of May to be a day of mourning in memory of the three Georgian soldiers who fell during a terrorist attack on the 13th of May while serving as part of the ISAF peacekeeping mission.
The Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and Deputy UN Secretary-general, Mr Sven Alkalaj, paid his first official visit to Georgia from the 15th to the 17th of May 2013.

On April 26, 2013, H.E. Mr. David Bakradze presented letters of credence to H.E. Mr. Tomislav Nikolić, President of the Republic of Serbia, appointing him Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Serbia. During the audience, Georgian Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Serbian President for its continuous support to Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
On 23 April, 2013, Ambassador David Bakradze held a meeting with the Director of Byzantine and Christian Museum, Dr. Anastasia Lazaridou. At the meeting, Ambassador discussed draft Memorandum of Understanding and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the Georgian National Museum and Byzantine and Christian Museum.
On March 31, 2013, Ambassador David Bakradze held a meeting with the representative of Korinthos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ms. Mariangela Panousi.
Ambassador David Bakradze held a meeting with the President of Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Constantine Michalos on March 12, 2013, in order to present investment climate, rapidly developing economy and flexible tax policy in Georgia.
On the 25th of February 2013, the EU Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ms Cecillia Malmström, paid a visit to Georgia during which she met the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze, and delivered Georgia's Visa Liberalization Action Plan (VLAP).
