Prime Minister of Georgia has launched an initiative for the establishment of the "Tbilisi Silk Road" Forum (official web-site www.tbilisisilkroad.ge), an annual high level meeting of all interested states and international organizations. Tbilisi, the Capital of Georgia would gladly host such a gathering. The first "Tbilisi Silk Road Forum" will take place on October 15-16, 2015. The aim of the forum is to explore new visions of enhancing partnership in four main areas of cooperation: transport, energy, trade and people-to-people contacts.The Forum, in the format of an international conference, will attempt to discover new ideas for possible scenarios through, which to enhance cooperation in the fields of transport, energy, infrastructure, trade and people-to-people contacts across the "Silk Road" belt. Discussions at the Forum would further approximate our positions and better motivate our countries to intensify the dialogue about the paths towards more prosperous and sustainable development.

By the decision of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the persons residing in Greece, upon their desire, may provide financial assistance to the victims of the flood that happened in Tbilisi on 13 June, 2015, by depositing money to the local bank account.

7 August 2014 marks the sixth anniversary of Russia's aggression against Georgia and occupation of the territories of a sovereign, independent state. Six years after the August 2008 war, occupation forces still exercise effective control over the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali. As a consequence, fundamental rights of the local population are severely violated and the hundreds of thousands of victims of the several waves of ethnic cleansing are deprived of the right to safe and dignified return to the places of their original residence.
